Quality deficiencies are impacting the company’s operations.
A leading German plant manufacturer with several global locations was faced with the challenge of ensuring quality standards in large-scale projects. Despite an export share of over 80%, there was a lack of uniform quality understanding and control systems in place.
Change management in global quality processes
The interim manager took on responsibility for three locations – with the task of analyzing error costs, securing an important, related certification, and optimizing supplier management. At the same time, it was necessary to overcome internal resistance within the management and address a reduction in human resources.
Pillars for global quality standards
To strengthen quality awareness, the interim manager focused on change management and introduced preventive process analyses and training courses. At the same time, he drove forward the digital transformation of error analysis. Through clear communication, he connected teams and suppliers with uniform standards.
Operational measures for quantifiable results
Targeted analyses with the teams revealed the causes of error costs and these were rectified immediately. At the same time, new supplier management processes were established, DIN ISO 9001:2015 certification was secured, and quality planning for the large-scale plant project was finalized. Internal problems were averted through establishing clear communication.
